Permit Process:

The process for obtaining a zoning permit starts with the filing of an application. Applications are taken at the zoning office Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm. Applicant is required to provide a site plan and proof of lot lines for any new construction. The applicant must provide a septic permit or proof of sanitary sewer service for any residential housing construction. For commercial construction a building permit must be obtained before the zoning permit can be applied for. The zoning secretary will then process the application and print out a zoning permit. The zoning inspector takes the permit and conducts an on sight inspection prior to issuing the permit. The applicant is responsible for staking out the proposed sight for new construction. The applicant need not be home when the zoning inspector comes out but should be available by phone for questions. The zoning inspector will then issue the permit and construction can begin.
